Grease Trap Repair & Replacement
Keep your kitchen running and your FOG compliance on track.

Restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, and other food service operations depend on a working grease trap or grease interceptor to keep fats, oils, and grease (FOG) out of the sewer. When a trap fails, the kitchen backs up, odors spread, and grease that escapes downstream can lead to sewer blockages and trouble with your local sewer authority. On Our Way Plumbing repairs, replaces, and installs grease traps and interceptors for commercial kitchens across Greater Cleveland.
We work on both under-sink and in-floor hydromechanical grease traps and larger in-ground gravity interceptors. Typical repairs include replacing broken or missing baffles, damaged lids and gaskets, cracked or corroded tanks, failed inlet and outlet tees, and missing flow-control devices. We also jet the kitchen drain lines and the line downstream of the interceptor, because grease that has already gotten past the trap keeps causing backups until it's removed. When a trap is undersized for the kitchen's current volume or has reached the end of its life, we size and install a replacement that fits the space and the flow.
Many communities in the region, including those served by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, enforce FOG rules for food service businesses, so we document what we find and what we did. We schedule work around your service hours whenever possible and quote every job upfront for free. Call 216-677-2707 for grease trap repair and replacement in Cleveland and Greater Cleveland.

Grease Trap Repair & Replacement FAQ
Common questions about our grease trap repair & replacement service.
The terms are often used interchangeably. Generally, a grease trap is a smaller hydromechanical unit under a sink or in the floor, while an interceptor is a larger in-ground tank serving the whole kitchen. Both separate grease by letting it float and cool before water exits.
Our focus is repair, replacement, installation, and line jetting. For routine pumping of large interceptors, many kitchens use a licensed hauler — we can coordinate with yours and set up scheduled line maintenance through our drain maintenance programs.
Grease may already be built up in the lines between the fixtures and the trap, or downstream of it, or a baffle or outlet tee may be broken. Jetting and a camera inspection usually reveal the cause.
